Hi, we are a Swedish family who own a holiday home in Fornalutx - one of the prettiest villages in Mallorca. We spend most of our hoildays here and the rest of the year we rent the house out. We have been doing so for three years now and it is so nice to be able to offer people from all around the world a comfortable place to stay in this beautiful spot. The house is situated high up in the old part of the village - a unique location. A rural tranquility (in fact there is a donkey almost next door ...) and a marvelous view over the roof tops and the Tramuntana mountains. No cars or mopeds - steps instead of streets. Yet the village square with its church, cafés and restaurants only a couple of minutes' walk away. The house is not huge but light and airy with an open plan kitchen towards the living room that has an open fire place for you to enjoy during the winter. It is furnished in a mix of classical Mallorquin and contemporary Scandinavian and Italian design. Lots of white, grey and terracotta. However the best thing about the house is the garden. We spend a lot of time here - we call it our outdoor living room. This winter a pool is being constructed and it will be finished early spring 2010. We will cover the pool in green mosaic - it will give the water a deep turquoise colour. In fact the whole garden gets a face lift; you will be able to watch the sunsets on benches covered with cushions, take outdoor showers and prepare your dinner in the outdoor kitchen. There is always fresh herbs for you to pick and the lemon tree is constantly carrying fruit. An olive tree gives shade during the hottest summer hours. There is a small road that takes you almost all the way up to the height of our house and here you can also park your car. The walk to reach the house from here is about 3 minutes. The house is ideal for a family with 2-3 children or for two couples. The village shop is excellent and you will find all that you need there in order to prepare your own lunch or dinner in the house or the garden.
